OUR STORY

Barbelt Apparel was born in 2018, just one year after we immigrated to the United States from Venezuela. Our journey began with nothing but a dream and the determination to keep training and competing—even without the financial means to support it.

In those early days, we were blessed to receive sponsorship from a local gym, which introduced us to an incredible fitness community. Inspired by their support, we began pressing T-shirts and hoodies in our small garage to raise funds for training and competition expenses.

As our community grew, so did the idea that changed everything. We created “Barbelt”—a name born from two objects that represent who we are and what we believe in.

The barbell symbolizes strength, challenge, consistency, and the courage to push limits.

The belt from martial arts represents discipline, resilience, respect, and the mindset to never give up.

Those values became the foundation of our brand and the meaning behind our slogan: “wear the word – live the meaning.” Barbelt is a reminder that no matter who you are—whether you lift, train martial arts, run, or follow any path—these values can guide and inspire your daily life.

Those early years helped us cover competitions, equipment, and travel, strengthening our dedication to keep moving forward. Motivated by the community that lifted us, we expanded our apparel line—still designed and pressed in our workshop—and in 2025 we proudly launched our first supplement line, evolving our brand into Barbelt Performance.

Today, Barbelt Performance is dedicated to giving back: supporting youth by creating opportunities for them to participate in sports, and partnering with nonprofit organizations that serve military, veterans, and first responders. It’s our way of honoring the dedication that shaped us and showing gratitude for the chance to thrive in this great country. And through it all, we continue to stand by our message: “wear the word – live the meaning.”
